Books.  Children.  Reading.  Learning.  

Since the beginning of my working career, it seems that I have been surrounded by books and reading children. From my first job at the  Public Library doing story hours and summer reading programs, to doing story hours and summer reading programs in my own bookstore years later with lots of children and lots more books.  The banner theme for the children’s department there was, “What goes into the mind, comes out in a life.” What could be more inspiring? I wanted every child to enjoy the great gifts that reading had in store for them and their future.  I wanted them to know all about the best books to fill their minds and to challenge their thinking. The desire to do more for literacy and early intervention for struggling readers led me to KnowledgePoints®.  Their quality program of individualized instruction with proven results convinced me that this is what I wanted to be a part of for a very long time.

As it turns out, I no longer have a bookstore full of books and children, but a center full of curriculum and learning students. There can be no greater satisfaction for me than to watch a student who starts our program with fear and frustration move to finishing with confidence and enthusiasm.  They are empowered by mastering the skills needed to engage in learning at their grade level, and school becomes fun again.

 I still love going to libraries and bookstores, but even more I love going to work every day, changing the world one student at a time.
