Claire WatsonDirector of Learning
Claire Watson is the Director of Learning at the Cool Springs KnowledgePoints Learning Center, a nationally recognized tutoring franchise that helps kids build academic skills and achieve success. Before graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in both English and French from Troy State University, Mrs. Watson began her teaching career at a private school in Luverne, Alabama teaching French to high-school students. Following a rigorous and successful internship in Enterprise, Alabama, Mrs. Watson graduated and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in the summer of 2000. Mrs. Watson gained valuable experience in marketing, scheduling, planning, and budgeting by working in the music industry at Sony® Music as the coordinator/executive assistant to the VP of A&R (Artist & Repertoire) for nearly four years. Upon returning to the education world in 2004, Mrs. Watson had the pleasure of working at two high-performing schools in Williamson County, teaching French II at Centennial High School and English at Independence High School in their inaugural year. She served on various committees including the local council of French teachers, where she helped create the standardized foreign-language exit exam for Williamson County students. Throughout the course of the year, Mrs. Watson tutored many students after school and there found a deeper passion for helping students in the capacity of private tutoring. Mrs. Watson was hired in the summer of 2005 as the Director of Learning at KnowledgePoints in Cool Springs. In 2007 she was named “Top Contributor”, an honor that is awarded only to other Directors of Learning across the nation. Her caring and dedicated approach to students, in combination with years of business experience, has created a framework for a successful learning environment in the KnowledgePoints Learning Center. Students under her direction learn much-needed skills. But they also quickly develop a desire to learn and a growing sense of self-confidence, which are keys to success in school and in life. |
