SUCCESS POINTS

In addition to praise and encouragement, Success Points are an important motivational tool used in the KnowledgePoints program. At the completion of each activity, students receive Success Tickets. The number of tickets a student receives depends on a number of factors: the difficulty of the activity, the effort put forth, working hard, having a good attitude, not giving up, etc.

At the end of the instructional hour, students count their Success Tickets and exchange them for Success Points. Students can then save or spend their points at Success Central, our reward store. Students regularly have opportunities to earn extra tickets for masteries in each skill area and on Double Points Days.

DOUBLE POINTS DAY!!!

On the last Wednesday & Thursday of every month, we have a special opportunity for students to earn extra tickets!  For giving 110% effort, students can double their points earned on those special days.  Students look forward to these days with much anticipation, for many students are working hard at saving for a particular prize.

MONTHLY PRIZE DRAWING

Another way to quickly advance toward a prize goal or to have extra points to spend is through our monthly prize drawing.  Students have an opportunity to enter a ticket in the drawing jar for every mastery achieved within that month.  At the end of each month, two deserving students are chosen at random to win mega extra points! 

The first-place winner receives an extra 50 points and second place receives 25 bonus points.  With an extra 50 points, a student can be halfway towards a remote-control Lamborghini or cash in for a $5 gift card to stores like Best Buy or Target.  The winners' names are posted in the Center for all to see!

TEACHER APPRECIATION NIGHT

Each winter, we take time to give a big thanks to the teachers in our community who make a positive impact on the lives of our students.  Each KnowledgePoints student nominates their favorite classroom teacher (current or previous).  That teacher and their principal are invited for a night of food, fun, and achievement.  It is a night in which our students are showcased with a reading of all their academic achievements at KnowledgePoints.  Our students enjoy sharing this special time with their teachers and families.  Then each nominated teacher receives a special token of appreciation while being applauded for their wonderful efforts in the lives of our children.

The night always ends with several prize giveaways.  Last year included such generous gifts from local area businesses as One Year of FREE Bread and Bagels from Panera Bread, Chicken Nugget Trays and the coveted Cow Calendars from Chick-fil-A, and gift certificates from Jason’s Deli.  Even the Titans football team graciously donated autographed items!  Students and teachers alike take home award certificates as well.
