What Parents are Saying...Thank you KnowledgePoints, Scott & I wanted to say "Thank You" very much for everything you did to help Brendan this year. As you know Brendan came to KP after receiving less than average reading comprehension scores by his 2nd Grade Teacher. The intensive tutoring he received the summer prior to to starting 3rd grade made a huge difference! Throughout the school year Brendan maintained a B in Reading and he scored a 1476 on his 2011 Reading FCAT (1198 is on grade level). There were four parts to the FCAT and he received a perfect score on 2 of them! Brendan's teacher stated she was not anadvocate of tutoring centers, saying she often sees no results by her students, but she was remarkably pleased with Brendan's progress. Several months into the school year Scott & I noticed that Brendan was struggling with his writing. We enrolled him in the KP writing program without speaking to his teacher and Brendan’s grades immediately started to improve. During the next parent-teacher conference she said she already knew he must be working on his writing at KP and she stated she would recommend KP to her students in the future. In addition to the academic success Brendan achieved he is now more confident. I often find him reading and writing on his own and he has already completed two of the fifteen Sunshine State reader books. Thank you very much! Heather B. Thank you KnowledgePoints, My son struggled with reading all his life. The sounds never seemed to make sense to him. We spent lots of time and money sending him to other tutoring and none seemed to help. He continued to struggle and began to give up on himself. Then a teacher recommended we take him to see Diane at KnowledgePoints, and after a few months there his whole world started to change. He would tell us that he sees things differently now. Thank you KnowledgePoints, My son Zach is a high school senior. He’s a smart boy but has never been able to pass the FCAT reading. This year he tried both the SAT and ACT hoping to get a reading score high enough to “substitute” for the FCAT as the state allows, but he wasn’t able to pass those tests either. We were very nervous as we wanted him to get his diploma, not a “certificate of completion,” and we turned to KnowledgePoints for help. What a great decision! After a few months of intensive work I’m proud to say his ACT reading score went up 4 points and his English score went up 8 points, allowing him to not only receive his diploma but Bright Futures as well! Thank you KnowledgePoints, We've already seen so much growth with Chris' reading. Suddenly everywhere we go he's reading things that I was having to read to him not long ago. He also now comes home from after-school care with his homework already completed - we realized he wasn't doing it there previously because he couldn't fully read the directions. What a difference! And he loves going to KnowledgePoints. We were recently considering keeping him home from school for the day because we were all fighting a little sickness, and when I asked him about it his response was 'If I stay home from school, you won't make me miss KnowledgePoints too will you?' Thank you KnowledgePoints, Austin had not been attending KnowledgePoints for more than a month when his teacher told us she noticed a change in him and asked if we were doing anything different. Even our daughter noticed a difference and commented on it. She wanted to attend as well so we enrolled her the following month. Thank you KnowledgePoints, Our home life was miserable. Homework was a daily fight and there was constant arguing. We kept hearing from the teacher how he was getting into trouble during class and I would get on him, then my husband would get on him when he got home, and I felt like we were constantly punishing him from TV, the Wii…everything. Now things have turned around completely. He’s doing great in school, got his first “S” in reading, and our home life is fun and positive again. I tell everyone I know how wonderful this place is.
